MEMORIES OF TALL BRIGG BUILDING

Following our recent piece about the large property currently available to let on Bigby Road, Brigg, Cliff Turner has emailed us from New Zealand.
"I believe that the house that became The Cedars was built for John Dauber in the second half of the 19th century," he says. "See F  Henthorn’s ‘Brigg in the 19th Century’ page 85.
"He describes the building as ‘the present clinic’ and that was its function during my early years when we lived opposite to it in Princes Street.
"The formidable Nurse Bull lived there. She came periodically to Glebe Road School to examine every child for head lice."

As you have already indicated, Nige, it, or at least a part, was a doctors practice....the fore-runner to Riverside...in the 70/80's, if not earlier.
In the car park was a mobile-type building that was the School Dentist.
In recent days, it has been used by Brown & co as some sort of admin/processing centre....and a cedar tree was removed from near its entrance some years ago...
