This public footpath from Churchill Avenue, Brigg, provides a pleasant walk to Wrawby |
Coun Sherwood, cabinet member for customer services, sport and leisure at North Lincolnshire Council and one of the Brigg & Wolds ward representatives, said: “Last year was a record year for Walking the Way to Health, which is fantastic. It’s brilliant to see so many people taking up walking in North Lincolnshire. There are lots of walks to choose from that allow you to take in the picturesque surroundings. It looks as though this year is going to be just as successful, if not more, looking at the record-breaking figures for January’s walks. It’s never too late to start exercising, take a look at the variety of walks and start walking your way to health.”
Walking the Way to health has 100 different routes (three miles long) and 10 short routes (one mile long) across North Lincolnshire.
All walks are led by trained volunteers, are free to take part in and everyone is welcome. There is no need to book, just turn up on the day.
Being physically active on a regular basis can significantly improve your health and fitness. Walking is ideal for building exercise into your everyday life. It is also a perfect way to see the natural environment around you
