MORE SIGNAGE NEEDED AT WETHERSPOON PUB IN BRIGG

Today being Mother's Day, many people in the Brigg area are treating mum to a meal out.
A popular venue is the new JD Wetherspoon eatery, the White Horse.
This morning we were stopped on Wrawby Street by a group and asked: "Can you tell us where Wetherspoon's is, please?"
The visitors were right outside the pub/restaurant at the time, but it then struck us there's an absence of prominent signage to tell people this is the popular new Wetherspoon outlet.
Propped up near the front entrance are some A-boards advertising meal deals and beers, but you have to view the small print to find any reference to the owners of the hostelry.
Perhaps this is something the management might wish to address, to help potential customers who come to town looking for Wetherspoon's.
We hope the group we assisted enjoyed the visit to Brigg. We assume they were not town residents and had travelled in specially.
North Lincolnshire Council's planning committee approved the current signs on the front of the White Horse, whose appearance did not please everyone, the pub being within  the  conservation area.
That being said, another sign carrying the Wetherspoon name would not make a deal of difference.
It could also be glimpsed by potential customers driving by on the A18 and would help them locate their destination.
