Brigg Town Council is as keen as anyone to see the town's passenger train service improved from the present Saturdays-only three to Sheffield and three to Grimsby and Cleethorpes. So a forthcoming meeting with Alex Hynes, managing director of Northern Rail, will be very important. It will take place on March 17, when the MD will be visiting Brigg. We expect the Friends of the Brigg & Lincoln Lines and North Lincolnshire Council to be central to the talks. It's going to be too late to change anything for the "new" timetable coming into effect in a few months. We can only hope to get extra trains provided in the medium to long term.
