Craft Market/Blessing of the Pumps
Saturday, June 7th 2014
Why
not head towards the Market Place in Brigg where a Craft Market will join with
the general Saturday Market from 9.00am – 3.00pm to coincide with the
traditional blessing of the Pumps
The
music starts at 10.00am followed by the traditional blessing of the Pumps at
11.30am, where the old town Water Pumps will be dressed by flowers carried by
the Brigg Brownies and blessed by a local Clergyman.
A
spectacle that must be seen with Morris dancing from local dance groups and
music from the Lootbeggers Old Time
String Band!
Don’t
miss this unusual tradition!

Excellent programme .....but June 6th is also the 70th anniversary of D-Day...Has this event been forgotten?
