Brigg Christmas lights may be about to undergo major changes for 2014, involving conventional bulbs being phased out in favour of the LED variety.
Town Clerk Jeanette Woollard raised the issue at a committee meeting of the Town Council, held in the Angel Suite. She told councillors: "We talked last year about having a review. In the New Year we need to have a look at this."
Coun Mike Campion pointed out that using LED lights would reduce the amount of electricity consumed.
Coun James Truepenny, chairing the meeting, felt utilising LED lights would be in line with the aims of the council.
It was agreed to form a small working party of councillors to consider the matter in greater detail. It is expected an update will be given to the Property and Services Committee in February.
