A COLD AND MISTY MORNING AT BRIGG RAILWAY STATION
An unusual Sunday view of Brigg railway station on a cold and misty morning. Good to see the box of salt ready for winter. The station only receives passenger trains on Saturdays - three in each direction to Sheffield and Cleethorpes. But there are hopes - even dreams - that Brigg might one day see a return of Monday to Friday trains, 20 years after the last ones ran.

I sincerely hope the station comes back into better use. The government seem only too keen to tax us out of our cars (on some supposed green agenda) but offer very little by way of alternatives for people in semi rural areas, unless of course you consider the HS2 project worth having...
Wouldn't it be nice just to step onto a train within walking distance of home instead of having to suffer badly planned bus connections or even worse, run the car parking gauntlet at Barnetby or Scunthorpe....
Very well said, Mark. Sure lots will agree with your thoughts. BEST REGARDS
