Brigg Town Council has received an assurance from Tesco that it has already taken steps to deal with litter near Spring's Parade.
The council flagged up concerns to the retail giant a month ago and a very comprehensive reply was received at Monday's meeting in the Angel Suite.
Tesco said it took the issue very seriously and was determined to be a good neighbour in Brigg. A spokesman said monthly clean-ups would become weekly.
Coun Mike Campion welcomed that response, saying there had been a marked improvement already. "Let's hope that's the end of the issue," he added.
Coun Ann Eardley suggested Tesco ought to knock down the large metal unit on the edge of its car park, which she described as an eyesore seen by many people as they arrived in Brigg.
Tesco acquired the former Lidl store, and the area around it, but then put its re-development plans on hold. Lidl opened a brand new store across the A18, off Atherton Way.
