Brigg will be a part of the very first Small Business Saturday UK- to be held on December 7.
Leaflets about the event were distributed at last night's AGM of the Brigg Town Business Partnership in the Buttercross.
It appears that this initiative in the USA results in small businesses having their best trading Saturday of the entire year!
The UK's Shadow Secretary of State for Business Innovation and Skills, Chuka Umunna MP, thought it would be a good idea to try a similar activity here.
One of the aims is to get people to 'think local' when shopping, and to boost trade for locally owned independent businesses.
