This being Saturday it’s perfect timing to bring Brigg Blog
followers these pictures taken of the sign that shows the existence of our
town’s railway station.
Why is Saturday significant? Well, that’s the only day of the
week that passenger services run along the Brigg line.
You can catch three trains east to Barnetby, Grimsby Town and
Cleethorpes; in the other direction you can go to Kirton Lindsey, Gainsborough,
Retford and Sheffield.
Our new Friends of the Line group is calling for
improvements to the around town signage for Brigg station.
Apart from the red and white British Rail survivor we’ve
pictured, there’s very little else to tell/remind people that Brigg is on the
passenger network.
Only by getting more passengers using our station can we
really press for phase two – more trains along our line.
Additional publicity to fly the flag for Brigg’s railway will
also help - from local groups, councils and websites like ours. But there's nothing to beat 'word of mouth' on Brigg streets!

One of life's little imperfections really, considering that the station approach not only leads to the station but also to the offices of North Lincolnshire Council.
Fancy an Xmas shopping trip to Grimsby?
