BIGGEST SPECTATOR EVENT OF THE YEAR IN BRIGG TONIGHT - CHRISTMAS LIGHTS SWITCH-ON, FESTIVE FAIR AND LATE NIGHT SHOPPING

Andrew Percy, the Brigg and Goole MP (right) enjoying last year's event.
Even if the weather is cold or wet we will enjoy the biggest spectator event of the year in Brigg tonight  (Friday, November 29) - the switching on of the Christmas lights, accompanied by Brigg District Lions' festive fair and late night shopping until 9pm.
If you are reading this and have never attended this annual extravaganza then we really recommend that you pop along. It's always a great night and there's loads to enjoy.
We  recommend you get into the Market Place by 4.45pm - ahead of the lights switch on at 5pm. It will be done from a temporary stage. And the cast of the Scunthorpe Plowright Theatre panto can be relied upon to entertain the crowds.
To put people in the mood we've included a few of our pictures taken at the 2012 event.
