North Lincolnshire Council will relax its
car parking charges for late night Christmas shopping in Brigg, encouraging more people into the town centre.
The
charge will be waived in Brigg after 4pm on Friday 29 November - the night of Brigg District Lions' Christmas Fair and the switching on of the town centre illuminations.
Any
money taken through the machines during this period will be
donated to The Mayor’s Appeal Fund and the Brigg Town Mayor’s Appeal Fund. The public
are welcome to make donations, if they wish.
Leader of North Lincolnshire Council,
Coun Liz Redfern, said: We
have decided to relax car parking charges over the festive period as it proved
to be a great success last year. There are a lot of great events and
activities taking place across North Lincolnshire throughout the festive period. The relaxation of car parking charges is
a great incentive for families to take part in all there is to offer."
Similar relaxations will apply on various dates in Scunthorpe and Ashby.
