FEWER UNEMPLOYED IN BRIGG AND GOOLE

Unemployment is down by 481 in the year to August 2013 in Brigg & Goole and the Isle of Axholme, reports our MP, Andrew Percy, through his Twitter feed. .

4.53pm Wednesday: We've just received an email from a George Osborne, who tells us: "These are still the early stages of the economic recovery and many risks remain, but thanks to the efforts and sacrifices of the British people, Britain is turning a corner. New figures out today show that unemployment has fallen again and the private sector has created more than 1.4 million new jobs over the past three years."
(George didn't give his address or state his connections with the Brigg area, and we can't recall seeing him in the Black Bull or the Britannia. But you can't know everyone, can you?)
