BRIGG JOBS PLEA

A call for councillors and businesses to do all they can to help boost employment prospects in the area came from Jim Marr, of Brigg Job Club, at Brigg’s Annual Town Meeting in the Angel Suite.
The forum was attended by senior councillors from the North Lincolnshire authority, as well as representatives of the Town Council.
Jim called for every effort to be made to attract businesses to Brigg and also asked existing local firms to recruit local folk. He also made a valid point about the transport difficulties faced by the long-term unemployed in getting to work, when they no longer have vehicles of their own.
That set Brigg Blog thinking about the massive industrial park proposed for the East Halton area and the fact there is presently no bus service from our town going anywhere near this north-eastern corner of North Lincolnshire.
