BRIGG INITIATIVE IS REALLY FIT FOR PURPOSE

Women in the Brigg area are among those being encouraged to get fit.
North Lincolnshire Council says jogging is popular as it’s a cheap and sociable sport.
But  starting out can be difficult.  That’s why the authority has a number of ladies-only jog groups designed especially for beginners.
These are for ladies aged 18 and over and are led by a trained leader who guides, support and motivates the group.  It’s a great way to take regular exercise and meet new friends, without the pressure of competition.
Everyone is welcome to try their first two sessions as a trial before committing to membership.
The jog group is Brigg meets at the Old Courts Road car park (behind the police station) every Tuesday at 5.45pm.

If cycling is more your thing, a number of ladies' cycling groups are being set up across North Lincolnshire.
Designed for novice cyclists, the groups are geared around a friendly, informal network of women.  So if you have a desire to get out on your bike or want more details, call Lee Olivant 07710 258391 or email lee.olivant@northlincs.gov.uk
Councillor John Briggs, Cabinet Member for Asset and Estate Management, Sport, Leisure and Culture, said: “The council are committed to making it easier for everyone to feel the benefits of a healthy lifestyle. These women-only sessions are a great way for ladies to find something they love to do, get fit and enjoy themselves at the same time."
