Visitors to Market Rasen Racecourse on Sunday (May 15) are being invited to sample the best fare that the county known as the 'bread basket of England' can provide.
The fixture is the annual Countryside & Tastes of Lincolnshire horse racing day - and celebrates the county that produces one fifth of Britain's food, from the busy fishing ports, to the windmills, farmlands, butchers, bakers, and chocolate makers.
Providers of the finest foods are coming to the races to sell their locally produced fare on a day when there will be an array of rural attractions. There will be falconry and blacksmith displays, plus cooking demonstrations and vintage cars to see.
Managing director Pip Kirkby (pictured) said: "We've very proud at the racecourse to be members of Tastes of Lincolnshire, and delighted that a variety of food and drinks from across the county will be available for our visitors to sample."
On the racecourse, starting at 2pm, there will be six races over steeplechase fences and hurdles, and the afternoon rounds off at 5pm with a race on the flat. Admission gates will be open at noon.
Before racing starts, the popular Punters' Panel led by raceday presenter Steven Powell will guide visitors through the day's sport and hopefully pinpoint some winners.
As always, accompanied children aged under 18 are admitted to the racecourse free of charge, while adult admission starts at £9.
General admission: Premier Members £26; County Enclosure £19; Tattersalls £14; Family Enclosure £9; Picnic Car Park £5 per car + Family Enclosure admission per adult. Accompanied children 18 admitted free of charge. Parking free. Tickets hotline 08445 793 009. More information at RASEN RACES
