Brigg’s new Town Mayor was installed last night at the annual meeting of the Town Council.
Coun John Kitwood was elected for 2011/12 to succeed Coun Ben Nobbs, whose very successful year as the town’s first citizen drew to a close.
Army veteran Coun Kitwood, who lives in Scawby, is a senior councillor and very experienced committee chairman within the Town Council.
Coun Carl Sherwood, of Manley Gardens, has become Deputy Town Mayor for the next 12 months and Town Mayor-Elect for 2012/13.
The annual mayor-making ceremony was held last night in the Angel Suite, Brigg.
A full report and more pictures from the ceremony and the preceding monthly meeting of Brigg Town Council will appear later.
