NEW BRIGG MoT TESTING STATION GETS GO AHEAD
A new MoT vehicle testing station for Brigg has been given the go ahead by North Lincolnshire Council.
'Change of use' planning approval has been granted for 16 Island Carr Road, on the industrial estate off Bridge Street.
Tom Laycock, Tom Laycock MOTs Ltd, submitted the application for an industrial unit.
A report prepared by North Lincolnshire Council planners said: "There are groups of units in the area, consisting of car repair garages and other commercial/industrial uses. An MoT test centre is not out of keeping with surrounding uses. No adverse comments have been received as a result of the consultation process and the town council have written in to support the application."
A report submitted with the application told planners: "Mr Laycock has run a successful vehicle repair business from Unit 20 Island Carr Road for a number of years and is wishing to expand his venture. The unit directly opposite his current premises has recently become vacant and offers an ideal opportunity for this expansion."
