MIXED RESULTS FOR BRIGG TOWN, BRIGGENSIANS & BARNETBY FOOTBALLERS

Brigg Town Football Club look like finishing runners-up in the Balcan Lighting Supplies Lincolnshire League Premier.
Yesterday (Saturday, April 20) the second-placed Zebras drew 1-1 when visiting third-in-the-table Gainsborough Trinity Reserves.
Tom Pearson was on the mark for Brigg who are 10 points behind leaders Lincoln Moorlands Railway but have only two fixtures remaining.
But Gainsborough have only one match left to play, making Brigg favourites for second spot at the end of the season.
In the EC Surfacing Ltd Scunthorpe & District Football League, A.F.C. Queensway won the Johnstone Insurance Nursing Cup final on Thursday night, beating Barnetby United Reserves 3-1 in Bottesford.
Queensway keeper Ross Bee was injured after 40 minutes and had to be replaced by Joe Siddons, resulting in a large amount of added time, during which Ben Popple put Barnetby ahead. But the Scunthorpe team went straight down the other end from the restart to score through Scott Neary.
Queensway took the lead after 62 minutes through David Brown and he added his second and then Queensway's third after 82 minutes.
The league said this result left Barnetby Reserves "utterly shattered" after losing all three cup finals they reached this season.
In division one yesterday (Saturday, April 20), second-from-bottom Briggensians lost 5-4 when hosting the only side below them, Crosby Colts.
A Ben Lingard hat-trick and a goal from Robbie Leaning were not enough for the Brigg team in this high-scoring thriller.
In division two, Kyle Sylvester scored four goals and Liam Dawson and Jonathan Welch one apiece as second-placed Barnetby United Reserves won 6-3 against leaders Epworth Town Colts.
Barnetby still have a chance of securing the championship, having two games to play while Epworth have only one. But Epworth have a four-point lead and a far superior goal difference.
