SERVING NINE COMMUNITIES NEAR BRIGG
A new vicar is being installed to cater for the spiritual needs of about 3,000 people living in nine villages and hamlets near Brigg.
The Rev Lee Gabel will be licensed as priest in charge of the North Wolds group of parishes during a ceremony at St Barnabas' Church in Barnetby tomorrow -
Tuesday, June 27, starting at 7.30pm.
The Mayor of North Lincolnshire, Coun Peter Clark - a former Brigg resident - will be among the VIPs attending.
As well as the railway village, this group of parishes includes Elsham, Kirmington, Melton Ross, Croxton, Great Limber, Bigby, Brocklesby and Somerby.
The benefice is part of the Lincoln Diocese's Yarborough Deanery.
It is interesting to note that the North Wolds group is equally divided between North Lincolnshire and the West Lindsey district of Lincolnshire.
The Church of England is not constrained by local government boundaries.
