BRIGG GARDEN CENTRE PRIZE WINNERS TO BE ANNOUNCED

The winners of this year’s Best Garden Competition have been picked and will be announced at a presentation evening on Tuesday (14 July) at Normanby Hall, North Lincolnshire Council tells us.
Brigg Garden Centre sponsored the council-run competition and is providing the prizes – a £100 gift voucher for each of the winners.
The Mayor of North Lincolnshire, Coun Helen Rowson, will be presenting the prizes to the winners. The Mayor also helped with the judging process.
The categories for the competition were:

  • Best large garden (over 100 square metres)
  • Best medium garden (up to 100 square metres)
  • Best small garden (up to 50 square metres)
  • Best schools garden
  • Best allotment
  • Best eco-friendly garden
  • Best garden maintained by a person with a disability

The aim of the 2015 competition was to encourage a wide range of entries from people wanting to join the growing trend of ‘growing your own’.

Coun Neil Poole, Cabinet Member for Neighbourhoods, said: “Well done to everyone who entered this year’s competition. We received some fantastic entries and they were all very worthy winners, which made our job of picking a winner for each category even harder. Congratulations to the winners, it is much deserved. A lot of hard work and imagination goes into creating these gardens, which should be recognised.”

N.F. ADDS: We will be interested to see whether any Brigg gardens are among the winners.
