That's the question being put to Brigg area families by North Lincolnshire Council.
All children aged three or turning three years-old before 31 August 2015 are eligible for up to 15 hours of free childcare from September 2015 in a range of settings.
The free childcare is offered as a minimum of two and half hours per week and up to a maximum of 15 hours per week.
As a parent you can choose the number of hours to meet your child’s needs and can increase the hours termly if you wish.
Each type of setting offers different sessions, from three hours to six hours or full days.
Where can children access their free entitlement? The choice is yours:
- A private day nursery
- A pre-school or playgroup
- A children’s centre with day care
- An accredited child-minder
- School or academy
Whatever type of setting you choose their early learning is through a range of interactive activities and child’s play. These include: painting, reading, cooking, climbing, singing, dancing, dress-up, running around, building and gardening - plus much, much more!
The childcare professionals working with your child ensure the maximum learning and development through their play whilst they are having fun with friends. All this supports their communication, language and social skills, as well as their physical development and understanding of the world.
If you’re not sure which type of childcare would best meet the needs of your family you can contact the Family Information service. They will discuss with you the benefits of each type of childcare. They can also provide you with an up-to-date list of all childcare providers that are available in your area.
To arrange your free place, contact your local childcare provider. It is recommended that you visit a number of childcare providers to see what they offer, to help you decide which would be best suited for your child. They will discuss with you what they offer, how they help your child settle and the types of activities your child will benefit from.

More than 800 two year olds are eligible for up to 15 hours of free childcare, where they or their families meet eligibility criteria. Families can complete an online application or call the Family Information service for an application form and details of the eligibility criteria. Coun David Rose, cabinet member for Children’s Services, said: “Early learning is vitally important, which is why parents are being offered this free childcare. It provides a valuable educational opportunity for children, encouraged by a carer to learn through play. They will have fun in a safe environment whilst making friends and preparing for school.
“We want to ensure that all parents take advantage of this great opportunity to have free childcare for their three year-old.
“There are many childcare settings across North Lincolnshire. Contact the Family Information service to find out where your nearest provider is and discuss which type of setting would best suit your child.”
