The revamped forecourt of the petrol station in Bridge Street, Brigg, looks very smart with BP pumps now dispensing fuel to drivers who turn in off the A18. The shop remains under the Costcutter banner.

Since then he has umpired as a member of the Scunthorpe panel. He is results secretary of the Lincolnshire County Cricket League, chairman of the Broughton Evening League and supplies cricket content for the Scunthorpe Telegraph, the Grimsby Telegraph and the Lincolnshire Echo.
