QUEEN ELIZABETH CENTRE STAGE IN BRIGG

BRIGG AMATEUR SOCIAL HISTORIANS (BASH)

The 1st October 2013 BASH meeting saw the welcome return of Marilyn Roberts for her illustrated presentation on Queen Elizabeth I.
She spoke about Elizabeth’s parents Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn, and how before she was three years old her mother was beheaded on the orders of her father. She had a succession of stepmothers. At the age of twenty five she became Queen of England and ruled for almost forty five years. She was the fifth and last monarch of the Tudor dynasty, dying just before her seventieth birthday in 1603.
