CONCERNS OVER PEDESTRIAN SAFETY IN BRIGG

Uncaring motorists continue to ignore the "no right turn" restrictions when exiting the slip road leading to the Tesco store. Their aim is to cut out the need to go left for a short distance to use the roundabout and then return along the A18.
However, it is disconcerting for pedestrians crossing the road at this point, who should not be encountering cars turning right.
Coun Ann Eardley raised the issue when Brigg Town Council met this week in the Angel Suite. She described the situation as dangerous and added: "It's getting ridiculous now."
Town Mayor Coun Carl Sherwood, who was chairing the meeting, added: "It is bad." He suggested that if anyone observed the registration numbers of vehicles ignoring the "no right turn" restriction they should pass the information on to the police.
It was also suggested the Town Mayor could flag up the problem at a future meeting of the Brigg Neighbourhood Action Team (NAT) which includes the police, parish and unitary councillors.
