BUSY PROGRAMME OF EVENTS IN AND NEAR BRIGG OVER THE AUGUST BANK HOLIDAY WEEKEND


Brigg will have a wide range of events on offer to enjoy over the August bank holiday 2022 weekend, including a special three-day festival of popular music.
BrigFest - a free-to-attend programme being staged at the Black Bull pub on Wrawby Street - will mean an early start to the weekend.
This hostelry has a temporary stage in its sizeable rear beer garden.
Tomorrow (Friday, August 26) BrigFest will begin at 2pm with a gig from Relentless (rockabilly music); from 8pm, more music will come courtesy of The Very Pet Shop Boys.
Friday night will see the Yarborough Hunt, on Bridge Street, hosting another of its periodic pop-up pizza events, from 5pm to 8pm. A mobile caterer will be there to provide pizzas to order.
The Millfield at Castlethorpe will start offering a full meals menu from Friday, in addition to the bar which launched in April at the refurbished former Arties Mill venue.
A big attendance is anticipated on Saturday (August 27) for the monthly Brigg Farmers' Market in the town centre throughout the morning and into the afternoon, with stalls offering a wide range of items including cheese, bread, jam, cakes, meat and beer.
The Traditional Saturday Market (located near the Buttercross) will be selling fruit & veg, flowers and fish.
St John's Church Hall will be open for light refreshments while the markets are trading.
Brigg Heritage Centre, in the Market Place's Angel building, will be open from 10am to 2pm for those wishing to take a look (free admission. Or try a craft event for all ages on Saturday.
BrigFest continues at the Black Bull on Saturday with a Touch of Pink tribute getting the party started from 2pm, Noggy at 5pm, and Statis Quo rocking all over the stage from 8pm.
There will be a karaoke session at the Woolpack (Market Place) on Saturday night, and a disco & karaoke at the Dying Gladiator (Bigby Street).
Brigg & District Servicemen's Club, Coney Court, has bingo on Saturday evening from 8.30pm (free entry).
Rob Johnson will be singing hits from various decades on Saturday night at Broughton Working Men's Club while Michelle Knight will be at Scawby's Sutton Arms.
Sunday's BrigFest line-up at the Black Bull is: 2pm, V4 - a tribute to the boy bands; 5pm, So 'N' So; 8pm, Abbamia.
Money will be raised for a worthy cause throughout the festival. See staff for details.
If the weather is fine, Brigg's many pub beer gardens will be very busy on Bank Holiday Monday (August 29).
The historic windmill in Wrawby (close to the A18) will have an open day, from 1pm to 5pm (free admission). Car parking is available.
The Wheatsheaf, in Hibaldstow, is offering a party afternoon on Monday, from noon to 4pm, featuring a Hawaiian BBQ. There will be karaoke in the evening, from 9pm.
Rosie, a singer, will be entertaining visitors to Broughton WMC on Monday afternoon, when a free buffet will be on offer. 

The Black Bull staged its own music festival over the extended bank holiday in June 2022 to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, with a range of acts on different days.
