BRIGG COUNCILLORS CONSIDER VAULT BAR'S 'LISTED CONSENT' APPLICATION

Brigg Town Council has raised to objections to a local planning application and another seeking listed building consent for a well-known building.
The authority was consulted about proposals to make internal alterations on the first floor of 27 Market Place, and to erect rear and side extensions at Shahdene, Westrum Lane (a domestic property).
Grade two listed 27 Market Place is the former HSBC Bank, currently being converted into the "unlocking soon" Vault Bar & Kitchen.
The alterations, following earlier submissions, involve relocating the proposed toilets serving the premises.
The applicant says the work will "impact minimally on the fabric of the building and any alterations will be carried out sympathetically."
These proposals "will help preserve the building for many years."
At the back of The Vault, a sizeable car park is being provided with gated access.
Brigg Town Council's Planning and Environment Committee, which met recently in the Angel Suite Lounge, has passed on its 'no objections' comments to North Lincolnshire authority planners who will now decide the Market Place and Westrum Lane applications in due course.
