BRIGG BLOG'S WEEKEND SPORTS PREVIEW: FOOTBALL, CRICKET & PARKRUN

Brigg Town Cricket Club have a vital and perhaps 'must win' game coming up in the Lincolnshire County Cricket League on Saturday (August 13).
Obviously keen to climb off the foot of the table over the remaining weeks of the campaign, Town host second-from bottom Caistor 2nds at the Recreation Ground (1pm).
Caistor gained a welcome 'walkover' victory last week due to their scheduled opponents conceding the fixture, while Brigg had five points deducted as a penalty when they were unable to field a team for their scheduled away game on August 7.
Brigg are currently 37 points behind Caistor but have two games in hand (20 points being awarded for an outright win).
In the same division tomorrow the top-ranked teams meet up, with Broughton 2nds having home advantage against Barton Town 2nds.
Broughton 1sts are away to Clee Town Laportes in Division One, while Hibaldstow have a Division Two fixture against Hartsholme 2nds in Lincoln.
There will be a game to watch in Hibaldstow where Scunthorpe Town 3rds play Haxey 2nds in Division Three West.
Brigg Town Football Club does not have a first team game in Toolstation Northern Counties East Division One this Saturday.
However, Brigg Town Development kick off their 2022/23 campaign in the Balcan Lighting Supplies Lincolnshire League Premier, being away to Grimsby side Nunsthorpe Tavern.
Eighteen teams will be competing in the Lincs League this season - Brigg's nearest opponents being Appleby-Frodingham (Scunthorpe) and Keelby.
The next Ancholme Valley Parkrun will be held in Brigg tomorrow (Saturday) at 9am. The start line adjoins the Ancholme Way Bridge.
The previous run, on August 6, attracted 82 competitors. View the results here...
Sunday (August 14) will see Hibaldstow 2nds entertaining Division Two leaders Alkborough in the Mick Walker North Lindsey Cricket League (1.30pm).
Broughton 2nds will play Caistor 2nds in the Lincs League's Supplementary Cup final at Hirst Priory, near Crowle.
