CHRISTMAS COMES EARLY AT BRIGG GARDEN CENTRE

Five weeks ahead of Christmas 2017 we visited Brigg Garden Centre on Saturday and were amazed by the number of people shopping there.
The popular centre on Bigby High Road - just over the county border - offers a huge range of festive gifts for people of all ages.
But what impressed us most was the way they run the restaurant.
Some staff would have wilted in the face of so many diners.
But workers with walkie-talkies rose to the challenge, keeping each other informed whenever a table became vacant in the huge eating area.
Yes, you had to queue to place your order.
But our food was on the table just a few minutes later. And very good it was, too.
Our cheese salad reminded us of enjoying a ploughman's lunch at the Angel Hotel in the 1980s between Glanford Borough Council meetings at what's now Hewson House.
We can't give the restaurant a 10 from Len but it can have a nine+ from Nige!
We'll be making a return visit soon to look over the Christmas range, with presents in mind.
But this time we'll be going midweek when perhaps it will be a little less busy than it was at the weekend.

Brigg Garden Centre's restaurant has a five-star food hygiene rating from West Lindsey District Council.
