BRIGG SPORT & LEISURE ON THE BALL

There's an air of optimism surrounding sport in Brigg at the moment, as far as we are concerned.
In the rain on Tuesday night we took a walk to Brigg Town Football Club for a couple of pints and a chat with friends and were surprised to see so many people in the bar.
Some were involved with a pool match, for which some nice refreshments were later served.
Other people were watching the big screen TV or just having a drink.
As we passed the Recreation Ground on our way to The Hawthorns, we noted the floodlit pitch in use by junior players, with a number of supporters in evidence.
It's always good to see youngsters getting involved in sport, but especially on a wet November evening.
The above picture was taken a few Saturdays ago in the Hawthorns clubhouse but gives an indication of what we are writing about.
The Zebras' first team are not doing at all well in terms of league results but attendances are among the best in division one of the Northern Counties East First Division.
There's also evidence of the bar proving more popular.
Pop in and take a look!
