REGIONAL AWARD PRESENTED TO BRIGG ANGELS

The presentation of awards for the best-kept gardens and allotments in Brigg always proves popular with the public.
The results of the annual competition sponsored by Brigg Town Council and Brigg Garden Centre were announced on Saturday, September 23 in the Angel Suite by Town Mayor Coun Sharon Riggall.
She did so at 11am during a break in the Town Mayor’s Appeal Coffee Morning, featuring a raffle and tombola.
The Town Mayor began by thanking Brigg Garden Centre for its support and for undertaking the final judging of the garden section.
She thanked Tony Morris for judging the allotments and Stan Mosey for providing the Most Improved Allotment Award, being awarded for the third time.
Tom Glossop - Freeman of Brigg - was also thanked for taking  photographs of the gardens.
These were on display in the Angel Suite for people to admire.
The Mayor thanked fellow councillors for judging the first round of the garden section.
"Every area of the town is walked by a team of Councillors who draw up a list for final judging," she explained.
The Mayor also made a special presentation  - the judges' award certificate  to Brigg Angels Women's Institute for its Angel Flowerbed. This was for the recent East Midlands in Bloom Competition. See the picture above.
