PLAYER SUFFERS SERIOUS INJURY IN BRIGG FOOTBALL MATCH

A football match in Brigg had to be abandoned on Saturday afternoon (November 5) due to a player being badly injured.
Brigg Blog went down down to Sir John Nelthorpe School to take some pictures of early play in the division three game between Briggensians and Barnetby United Reserves, but had left by the time a member of the Barnetby team sustained a broken leg in the 42nd minute of the match.
Neil Gallafent and Sol Hari had already scored for Briggensians, with Joe Wilkinson and  Will Dawson on the mark for the visitors.
The TSW Printers Scunthorpe & District Football League said the game came to an unfortunate end when a Barnetby United Reserves player received a serious injury.
Briggensians, who are second in the table behind Barnetby Reserves, are without a game this coming Saturday, November 12.
However, in the Lincolnshire FA Junior Cup third round, Barnetby United's first team will host Louth Town at the village's Silver Street ground (KO 1.30pm).

Brigg Blog will post our match pictures from the early stages of Briggensians v Barnetby Reserves later in the week.
