PACKED WITH INFORMATION

Last night's double-header - Brigg Town Council's March meeting followed by the Annual Town Public Meeting - produced a wide range of interesting discussions on many topics, all of which will be appearing on Brigg Blog in coming days, plus the columns of the Scunthorpe Telegraph and Market Rasen Mail, who both sent reporters along to join me on the press tables!
Town Mayor Coun James Truepenny delivered the Town Council's review of the year, Pc Jane Proud represented Brigg Police and Coun John Berry reported on the work of North Lincolnshire Council. There was an update on Brigg public footpaths from Tony Parker, a report on the 3Bs Youth Project, and discussions over the future of the County Bridge (the subject of a referendum) and cleaning up the riverside.
Plus lots more to come....with pictures!

Last night's AGM was more relaxed than the usual annual demure event when even an involuntary cough would get a dirty look!
A few of the less staid moments included:
1.When the Town Mayor, James Truepeeny indicated to the public that photographs would be taken and enquired whether anyone would object.....the only person to raise his hand was our Nige!
2. This episode was quickly pursued by Cllr Nige the Bike Sherwood saying he therefore must improve his appearance and enquired whether anyone had a suitable lipstick.
And 3. when Cllr Ann Eardley enquired from Pc Jane Proud if police could confiscate fags from yougsters as she was approached in Spring Parade by a scally-wag asking her to purchase a packet on his behalf.
There was, however, a loud raucous chuckle when the councillor very seriously claimed that she does not really frequent the beer-off!!!
The only miscreant of the night was a rogue electric heater, which seems to have a fan that doesn't know the words and started to hum loudly. It was quickly executed, but still remains a latent delinquent.
It was usual for speakers to respectfully stand when posing, or answering a question....at one point, poor NLC Cllr John Berry got a series of minor enquiries that his was up and down like a Jack-in-a-Box!
The session had its serious moments with, for example, some Scawby Brook residents seemingly showing their mild disapproval at Brigg TC's stance on the proposed bio-mass plant.
