COMING UP SMELLING OF ROSES

Pretty much everything in the garden looks lovely as far as Brigg allotments are concerned. Positive reports were delivered on the Redcombe Lane and Grammar School Road plots when town councillors received a monthly update on the facilities they oversee and rent out.
At Redcombe Lane, allotment-holders' spokesman Peter Brock reported all plots being worked and that everyone remained happy with the state of things.
Coun Mel Oades added he had observed 'a fair bit of activity' at that site.
Following a look-see visit to the Grammar School Road allotments, Coun John Kitwood reported one or two unkempt plots, "but the majority are being worked, which is what matters."
Looking at both sites, Coun Jackie Brock stressed: "The weather has not been sparkling - lots of frosts and quite wet."
Town Clerk Jeanette Woollard described the overall state of the Brigg allotments as 'marvellous'.
Our picture is a summer one of the Redcombe Lane allotments.

Blooming heck!
After this protracted, cold winter, I predict that all the late winter and early spring flowers are going to explode in bloom at the same time in the very near future. We will be dazzled by the colour and profusion as Mother Nature re-establishes ordered discipline in the garden.
