HISTORIC PUB REOPENS TONIGHT

Brigg's historic Dying Gladiator pub - the only one carrying that name in Britain - reopens to drinkers tonight from 6pm, with the official ribbon cutting at 7pm.
And the new man at the helm, Robert Borrill, has very kindly invited 'yours truly' along to perform the ceremony which relaunches the revamped hostelry into a new era.
Should guarantee him decent coverage in Brigg Blog! It's also hoped the Scunthorpe Telegraph will be sending a photographer along to record the big moment.
We went past The Glad twice last night while visiting the nearby Angel Suite for council meetings and the lights were on inside as last-minute touches were being added to the refurbishment project. The shutters were already off the front of the building, allowing a decent look inside the premises.
Visit Brigg Blog tomorrow for pictures of those folk enjoying the opening night...but don't expect them to be posted too early in the morning, given the nature of the event!
