LONGEST-SERVING STALLHOLDERS ON BRIGG FARMERS' MARKET REVEALED

Brigg Blog can now compliment the longest-serving traders supporting our monthly Farmers' Markets in the town centre.
North Lincolnshire Council has responded to our inquiry about this popular market, which has been going almost 16 years, and identified those stall-holders who have been there from the very early days.
In addition, Brigg Blog follower Peter Altoft has applied local knowledge to come up with his own list of long-servers.

FROM NORTH LINCOLNSHIRE COUNCIL SPOKESMAN CHRIS O'ROURKE
We've trawled the records and although the farmers' market started in July 2000, our records only go back to November 2001.
The following are the Brigg Farmers' Market traders that have been on there since November 2001:

  • Abbots Garden (meat)
  • F W Read (cheese)
  • Goachers (fruit and veg/jams)
  • Lincs Organics (meat)
  • Oslinc (ostrich meat/burgers) - PICTURED ABOVE
  • Redhill Farms (meat)
  • Stonecrop Herbs (plants/ bushes)
  • True Loaf Bakery (bread/scones)

FROM PETER ALTOFT
Pink Pig, Red Hill Farm, Waltham Herbs & Oslinc have been attending the Brigg Farmers' Market from day one.

The next farmers' market will be held on the fourth Saturday of the month - March 25, from 9am in the Market Place. We hope to see you there and also keep fingers firmly crossed for decent weather, which always has a part to play in shoppers' support.
