Brigg Town Councillor Chris Dyson has suggested that Scalini's fish and chip shop in Wrawby Street should be encouraged to reinstate this bow window on their property, as part of their intended renovation programme.
The side window - looking onto Little Butchery which connects Bigby Street and Wrawby Street - was still in use when the building was operated by W H Smith, the national chain, many years ago.
Scalini's are currently asking North Lincolnshire Council for permission to adopt this listed building to provide a restaurant on the first floor, in addition to the existing shop.
Coun Dyson's suggestion has been supported by the Brigg Town Council Planning and Environment Committee.
Coun Ben Nobbs said it would be nice to see the window restored.
Coun Jackie Brock agreed as long as doing so would not cause undue problems for the proprietor.
