QUEEN SENDS HER BEST WISHES TO BRIGG

The Brigg Town Business Partnership must have been thrilled to hear that the Queen liked the present sent to her to mark her Diamond Jubilee.
A treasured letter from Buckingham Palace, on official notepaper, has been received by chairman Byron Teague (pictured above), of Brigg Fruit, Veg and Flowers, in Wrawby Street.
In the communique, Her Majesty's Chief Clerk says he had been asked to thank Byron, Paul Keane (vice-chairman) and members of the Brigg Business Partnership for the kind letter containing a message of royal greetings during the 60th anniversary of the Queen's accession to the throne.
The Chief Clerk says Her Majesty was pleased to receive "the splendid card and photograph album" and that she sends her best wishes.
You may remember that various views of Brigg and its traders and personalities in patriotic mood were placed in the album.

A display of some of the photographs is on display in the library.
I understand that these pics will be put in a 2nd album and be left in reference section of the library as an historic reference.
