Brigg town councillors discussed proposals for a new car sales business in Brigg and will now make their observations known to district planners.
Planning permission is being sought from North Lincolnshire Council to change the use of land to retail car sales, including the siting of a portable building and the installation of a security barrier at a former haulage yard on Bridge Street.
Brigg Town Council’s Planning and Environment Committee – the first stage in the planning process – agreed to make its views known to North Lincolnshire planners before the unitary authority makes a decision on the application.
Some comment was made about the access to the proposed car sales premises being directly opposite the entrance to the Island Carr Industrial Estate off the busy A18, Bridge Street.
There was also reference to the nature of the surface in the haulage yard and its low-lying nature.
But Coun Penny Smith said: “I think our only concern should be about the traffic.”
Our picture shows the former haulage yard on the right, off Bridge Street.
