STUDENTS SHARE SECRET OF THEIR SUCCESS
Students from Brigg Kumon Centre celebrated above average achievements in English and mathematics at a recent Awards Ceremony on Saturday.
The event, which took place at St. Mary’s Church Hall in Brigg, was held to honour students who have achieved a high level in either English or mathematics during the last six months.
Craig Cook, Brigg Kumon Instructor, paid tribute to the students’ achievements which have come about through hard work and perseverance. He said, “All the high-achieving students have had to overcome obstacles and challenges along the way. The Kumon programme enables the students to meet the challenge of harder work and develop new skills for themselves through daily practice. I am immensely proud of all the students.”
Seven year old, Brigg student, Santiago Rivett, pictured aboe receiving his bronze award from the Mayor and Mayoress of Brigg, Coun Ben Nobbs and Barbara Morris, spoke to those attending about the secret of his success. He said he finds it helpful to do his Kumon homework first thing in the morning. Students and their families, delighted with their own achievements, were interested to learn how much Santiago has improved.
He said: “Kumon has helped me so much because I am now much quicker at my school work. I even have time to help other children in my class.”
