LIKELY TO GET GREEN LIGHT

Elected councillors are to make the long-awaited decision on whether North Lincolnshire Council will give North Lincolnshire Homes 'change of use' planning permission to transform pensioners' accommodation in Ancholme Gardens, Brigg, into a call centre for staff to use during an emergency.
Most applications are now decided by council staff, but a few - like this one - are settled by a committee of councillors.
Planning staff can see no reason to refuse the granting of permission, despite Brigg Town Council's objection on the grounds that there's a local need for pensioners' accommodation.
Councillors don't always go along with the expert opinion of their planning staff, but they do in the majority of cases. So the odds are on permission being granted in this case.
We'll bring you the decision, once it's made.

I was at the Planning Committee meeting when this was discussed.

Cllr Nige(the Bike) Sherwood made a strong challenge indicating that removing a dwelling (senior cit's) from the equation of high house shortages seemed a daft idea.
He suggested that Disaster Centre would, hopefully, never need to be used. He suggested that an alternative base should be sort.

Nevertheless, despite, in my opinion, Nige the Bike's sensible comments, the Council voted for their officers' recommendation that the bungalow be used in case Brigg has a very serious case of wood-worm!!

Grave spelling error!!!!
I know a number of typing errors get through my casual gaze........but I can't use that excuse for 'SORT'...in above.

SOUGHT - SOUGHT - SOUGHT - SOUGHT!!

I'll be getting detention from Mr Fisher, soon!

Talking about spelling errors - following a 4x4 out of Brigg today; it had one of those advertising covers over the door-bolted spare wheel.

'Scunthorpe - Winterton
Slimming (something)
Because your beautiful'

....THEN a cafe in Scunny was advertising 'TOMOTOE SOUP' and that was near a place that had 'ACCOMODATION' and a nearby pub was 'LICENCED TO SELL...' And then I came home to find NLC was reporting on the'BOTTESFORD PAVILLION.

Then SORTS of things went wrong!!!!
