Brigg Town FC will play what is perhaps their most important game of the season on Saturday (March 3).
The Zebras are away to Retford United - Brigg being second from bottom in the ToolStation Northern Counties East First Division with the North Nottinghamshire side the only one beneath them in the standings.
If the Zebras can win this 'six-pointer' they will be only one behind Worsbrough Bridge Athletic who also have an away fixture this weekend and might well be beaten.
Our first thought on hearing that Brigg were playing at Retford was whether some fans would opt to take the Saturday-only direct train from our station to North Notts.
However, we have been advised that the last train of the day from Retford to Brigg departs too late for football fans to be able to see all the match.
That's very unfortunate, as a train trip might have appealed to Zebras' fans fancying a few pints as part of their day out and therefore leaving the car at home.
