BRIGGENSIANS' DINNER 2018 & REUNION ENJOYED BY BRIGG SCHOOL FRIENDS

Dozens of former Brigg school friends were reunited at the annual dinner of the Briggensians' Association held on Saturday night, braving the snow and ice to make it to Elsham Golf Club for the annual dinner.
This was a golden opportunity to remember school days at Brigg Grammar School, Brigg Girls' High School, Sir John Nelthorpe School and Brigg Sixth Form.
Current headteacher at Sir John Nelthorpe School, Rob Biglands, took the opportunity to launch an exciting campaign to refurbish the oldest part of the premises, off Grammar School Road, including the 17th century grade one listed section.
This is being done with the assistance of Coun Rob Waltham, of Brigg, Leader of North Lincolnshire Council, and a former SJN student.

Guests at the 41st annual dinner, held at the golf club's Millennium Restaurant, enjoyed excellent food and drink, with some final real ale available at the bar.
Current Brigg Sixth Form students assisted with the raffle, which raised well over £200 for association funds.
John Hastings was the toastmaster and Clive Thompson, vice-chairman, oversaw proceedings from the top table.
Unfortunately, due to the bad weather, the scheduled speaker and former SJN pupil, Dr Anne Rae, was unable to make it to the venue. Read more here...
The age range of those attending the function ranged from teenagers to some who are now in their 80s.
The association will be holding a range of sporting reunions during 2018.
