WELL-KNOWN BRIGG COMPANY GIVEN ADVERTISEMENT GO AHEAD

New signage has been approved in Brigg following an application from a well-known local company.
Thomas Bell and Sons Ltd, whose Country Store is based near the A1084 level crossing on Bigby Road, successfully applied for advertisement consent to retain one sign and replace one with a tall forecourt sign.
Brigg Town Council supported the company's proposal and North Lincolnshire planners have now granted permission.
A  North Lincolnshire planning report said: "The proposed sign is significantly larger than the existing and forms a totem sign with a maximum height of 6m.
"The sign features a wooden frame with a series of coloured infill panels showing the company name, directional information and the range of products sold at the site. The site is not to be illuminated.
"It is considered that the sign is acceptable in terms of its appearance, scale and content and will not result in harm to visual amenity or highway safety given the response received from highways."
Thomas Bell is one of Brigg's most long-established firms and can trace its history back to the Victorian era.
