NOT TOO FRIT TO GUZZLE ON LINCOLNSHIRE DAY IN BRIGG

It was a case of Tom Wood's locally brewed ales only for us last night at the Yarborough Hunt pub on Bridge Street (pictured above) as Brigg Blog looked to support Lincolnshire Day.
Sadly, many folk we talked to seemed unaware it was our county's special day, celebrated each year on October 1 and designed to showcase what's on offer in the way of food, drink and visitor attractions.
Surely we can do better in 2017!
We noticed on Twitter that Lincolnshire Co-op shops were strong supporters of Lincolnshire Day, but we don't have one of these in Brigg.
Our favourite new media posting came from the Manor House B&B at Manton, which offered an informative Lincolnshire Dialect Translator.
It included the word guzzle - "drink fast" - which returns us nicely to our original reference to the Yarborough. We also popped in later at the Britannia and the Dying Gladiator.
