NATURE GETTING BACK TO NORMAL IN BRIGG

The late summer green weed has almost cleared along the River Ancholme in Brigg and things are getting back to normal.
We took this picture of the Old River underneath the Ancholme Way bridge on Sunday afternoon, and the water is so clear you can see the bottom!
The green weed always comes to town but we know it's going to be a short-lived feature.
Its disappearance will assist the many anglers who come from far and wide to enjoy their sport in our river.
Brigg is delighted to see them, especially if they visit local shops. But please can those who use very long poles ensure that the equipment is not left blocking the footpath.
Passing  pedestrians should not have to hurdle obstructions.
There may be a high level alternative now the Ancholme Valley Way cycle track/footpath has opened, but walkers still have a perfect right to use the old towpath near the waterside if they prefer this route.
