GETTING BY WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM BRIGG FRIENDS

It's proving to be a busy weekend for Brigg Blog, taking in a number of events and venues.
Yesterday (Saturday) afternoon we attended a cheque presentation at Sir John Nelthorpe School and then took action pictures of the Briggensians FC home game.
Last night we paid social calls on the Yarborough Hunt, the Britannia Inn and the Dying Gladiator and met up with a good many friends.
Vocalist Pete Scott was booked to entertain at The Brit. We took this picture late on during the Joe Cocker standard Get By with a Little Help....
Today (Sunday) we've been down to take pictures of the major Ancholme Head rowing event, which involves two races from Broughton Bridge.
This brought visitors from far and wide to Bridge Street and Manley Gardens  - spectators and rowers.
And finally...
As we walked along Queen Street about 8.15pm last night, there was a very large police dog van - the van was large, not the dog! - parked in Wrawby Street on the paved area between Wetherspoon's White Horse pub and the China Garden.
We couldn't see any police about or hear any barking canines. Nor did we hear about, or see, any trouble in the town centre.
If you have an inkling of why the van was where it was when it was, please email scoopfisher@aol.com
