LAST CHANCE FOR EX-PUPILS TO SEE BRIGG SCHOOL BEFORE CLOSURE

There's a nostalgic last chance coming up for Brigg pupils to visit their old school before it closes. It's not to be missed!
A new Vale Academy building is nearing completion, close to the existing school premises down Grammar School Road.
After students and staff have moved into their new multi-million pound base, the old premises will close and demolition will follow.
It's a similar picture on Redcombe Lane, where the Vale has its other site - divided from the main one by the playing fields.
On Friday, November 25 there's an open invitation for ex-pupils to drop in between 6pm and 8pm and take a last look at the classrooms in which they were educated.
Glanford Secondary Modern School and neighbouring Westmoor  opened in 1957 and 1959 respectively. Later, there was Brigg Secondary School and the Vale of Ancholme School before the Vale Academy came on the scene.
There's no need to book places for next month's farewell event - just turn up at either, or both, sites.
Many old photographs will be on display, showing school life down the decades, retired teacher Pat Neal tells us. He's been collecting them for months and we've been only too happy to help him with some images from the archives.
Glanford school originally educated youngsters who lived in Brigg, while Westmoor catered for pupils from surrounding villages, including Broughton.
