COMING UP IN BRIGG TODAY...

Just a reminder that October's Brigg Farmers' Market is in business today  until mid-afternoon, alongside the usual Saturday general market on Wrawby Street and the Market Place.
Both are run by North Lincolnshire Council.
A wide range of goods and produce is available from stalls within both sections.
This morning's cloudless blue sky and sun should help boost the attendance. A wonderful autumn day, so make the most of it!
Not long after 9am there were plenty of people to be seen heading for the market on foot and in vehicles, including the Saturday shoppers' bus from surrounding housing estates.
We gather there's an opening ceremony planned about noon at  newly-refurbished St John's Church Hall, on Bigby Street. We hope to drop by.
This might only apply to part of the town, but a smell in the air today reminded us of the aroma which wafted over Brigg during the beet-processing camaign at the sugar factory years ago.
The annual reunion for ex-employees of the factory, which closed in the early 1990s, has just been held - at Elsham Golf Club - and a fine selection of pictures, showing those who attended the lunch, will be appearing in this coming Thursday's Scunthorpe Telegraph. A whole page of them, we expect.
