A branch of our family once ran the Marrowbone & Cleaver pub in Kirmington, which Guy has now bought.
Our family links to the historic hostelry date back to the early decades of the 20th century.
In the 1980s and early 1990s, when we were playing midweek and Sunday cricket for Brocklesby Park, our team and the opposition used to visit the Cleaver after matches, as it was the nearest hostelry to the picturesque ground on the Earl of Yarborough's country estate.
We've been back a few times since then for meals.
Brigg Town Cricket Club has been using the Brocklesby Park ground for its home games in recent seasons.
